Last month, before this mess, we had several really neat answers to prayer. Sometimes it's easy for me to pass things off as "oh that was nice" or "oh thank goodness that happened". I was talking to a friend about something like that and she stopped me and said "Wait, Kristina, that's exactly what we were praying for! That's an answer to prayer!" And it really dumbfounded me. That it didn't occur to me as an answered prayer until she said it.
So here it goes. Almost three years ago Micah started his master's degree, with the knowledge of a government loan forgiveness program. He has to teach at a school for at least five years, that qualifies for a certain number of free and reduced lunches, and teach in either math or science. If he qualifies he could get up to his entire loan forgiven. We weren't banking on getting that, getting his masters will still pay off in the long run. But oh my word, that would be nice. So we've been praying about that for the past three years. He applied for it right after he finished his 5th-year last spring. And we've been waiting ever since.
Every big decision we've made in the past three years we've thought, well should we wait to hear back about your student loans first? At the beginning of this year, we found out that he was accepted! His account, that had previously shown his full debt amount, now read all zeros. Amazing. Thank the Lord!
Now, it's not like we're suddenly any richer. We don't currently have any more money than we did before. But over the next lotta years, we won't have to be paying that off. So thanks Obama, or whoever made that program. Thanks to my Dad, for paying all that money in taxes, so us poor folks can have our student loans forgiven. Nah I'm just kidding. But seriously, I'll thank anyone! lol

I suppose I should thank my awesome husband for working so hard and getting that degree. So he could make more money doing the exact same job. So I can stay home and sit around and do nothing. I mean, take care of these kids. ; )
